Is it free?

Yes. If you live in Accra and are over 18 years. Both the kit and the delivery are free of charge.

Is it confidential?

Yes. Privacy and confidentiality are crucial to our service. All data is encrypted when you send it and when it is stored. We adhere to a strict privacy and data protection policy. Your data is never shared outside of the team.

Who is behind it?

Self Test is a partnership between WAPCAS (Ghana-West African Program to Combat AIDS & STI) & SH:24 (UK) in collaboration with the National AIDS/STI Control Programme and the Ghana Health Service. We provide free HIV self test kits, education and counseling on HIV/STI and sexual health.

Who are the virtual support team?

They are a team of friendly healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, who provide online support about HIV self tests and specialist sexual health advice, education and counseling when you need it.

Can I order for a friend?

No. Please give them the link to our app and ask them to order for themselves. We cannot provide kits to you for use by other people in order to protect their privacy and confidentiality. Reach out to us on 0303-960-212 , If you have further questions about this.

Where do you deliver to?

Currently, we only deliver within Accra. We are not able to deliver to any location outside of Accra.

How will I know if my order has been received?

Once your order has been received and processed, you will get an SMS containing an order reference number between the hours of 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

How quickly will I get the kit?

Once your order is confirmed and processed, your kit will be delivered by our courier partner within three working days. A call is always placed by the courier to arrange the delivery.

What happens if I am not in to meet the courier?

If the courier is unable to reach you, several more attempts will be made to deliver the kit. If however the courier is unable to reach you after one week of attempted deliveries; your kit will be returned to our office. We will contact you to arrange redelivery. Where can I get help after using the HIV self test kit?

After you have used the HIV self test kit, it is important to share your result with the virtual support healthcare team so that they can offer you help, whether you have a non-reactive result, a reactive result, an invalid result or if you are simply unsure about your results. You can click the chat iocn and choose 'Report result' from the main menu.

Why do you want to know my result?

Sharing this information can be uncomfortable, whether it’s non-reactive, reactive or invalid, but it’s essential so a healthcare professional can offer you the right support. Your results will be kept private and confidential. We will never share your result with anyone, unless you give us permission.
